The weekend before school started we felt like we needed to get away from everything. So we took a trip up to Camp Verde. We were going to go camping but both nights there were some crazy thunder storms so we stayed at a motel 8. It was such a nice little vacation, and we both needed it very much. Friday we hung out in the hotel room for the evening. Saturday we visited montezuma castle, then we went on a hike, built a fire and had lunch, played in a river, (Barbara loved playing in the river, she would splash it and try and walk in it!) went out to DQ for dinner, and then watched a movie in the hotel. Sunday we packed up and drove home on the more scenic route.
